Nuclear energy took an important step forward as Antares Nuclear’s Mark-0 microreactor reached a key testing milestone at the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory. The reactor is not yet producing electricity, but the successful test shows progress toward smaller, next-generation nuclear systems.
These new reactor designs could eventually help provide reliable power for military bases, remote locations, and other specialized uses. There is still a long path ahead, including more testing and regulatory approvals, but this milestone is a meaningful sign that nuclear technology continues to move from concept toward real-world application.
