Michigan Approves 6 Battery Storage Sites, Totaling More Than 1.3 GW of Capacity

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) has approved six DTE Electric Company planned battery storage projects in the state, totaling 1.3 GW of capacity. The six facilities include 450 MW Big Mitten Energy Center in Huron County; the 350 MW Monroe I Energy Center and 200 MW Fermi Energy Center in Monroe County; the 132 MW Fish Creek Energy Center in Montcalm County; the 100 MW Cold Creek Energy Center in Branch County; and the 100 MW Pine River Energy Center in Gratiot County. The latter three will serve a new Oracle data center being developed in Saline Township.
